Cloud-Enabled Warehouse & Logistics Optimization for a Global Snacks Manufacturer

Cloud-Enabled Warehouse & Logistics Optimization for a Global Snacks Manufacturer

At a Glance

A global snacks manufacturer with more than US $1 billion in annual revenue sought to modernize and streamline warehousing and logistics operations using a cloud-based solution. The organization required a system capable of supporting large-scale operations across restaurant outlets, retail channels, and international distribution.

After a structured evaluation process, the company selected a technology provider with relevant experience in food and beverage supply chains and strong technical maturity. The objective was to implement a next-generation platform that could handle complex, high-volume warehouse processes with accuracy, visibility,

The Context

The manufacturer operates eight production facilities, manages 20 restaurants, and distributes packaged products to more than 80 countries. With expanding product lines and growing demand, existing warehouse and logistics processes lacked real-time visibility and efficient tracking.

The leadership outlined the following operational priorities:

  • Ability to classify, record, and track hundreds of incoming material items
  • Continuous visibility into warehouse stock levels, both item-wise and category-wise
  • Monitoring of outgoing materials with clarity on fast-moving and slow-moving inventory
  • Improved decision-making for supplier management and inventory planning
  • Real-time tracking of the status of finished goods and raw materials from any location
  • Seamless integration of warehouse and logistics systems with other enterprise applications

A robust end-to-end supply chain platform was required to support current operations and future expansion.

The Solution

A cloud-native Warehouse Management System (WMS) was developed on the AWS ecosystem to meet the organization’s operational and analytical needs. Key aspects of the solution included:

  • Unified supply chain visibility, covering all incoming raw materials, warehouse movements, and dispatch activities
  • Analytics on near real-time operational data, enabling fast, informed decision-making
  • A supply chain control tower providing top-level metrics and consolidated insights for senior leadership
  • Role-specific dashboards supporting warehouse supervisors, factory managers, and distribution teams
  • Mobile accessibility, enabling users to view and act on notifications for accepted materials or dispatched goods
  • A scalable architecture designed for high data volumes and multi-location operations
  • Advanced analytics capabilities, allowing decision-makers to segment and analyze data by product category, pricing variables, and more
  • Integration with external systems, including solutions used by suppliers, distributors, and other business functions

The Outcome

The warehouse modernization initiative delivered notable improvements across operations:

  • Enhanced visibility into real-time operational data, enabling faster and more accurate decision-making
  • Seamless alignment with the organization’s existing ERP system, ensuring consistency across processes
  • Improved tracking of both outgoing and incoming materials, reducing delays, inefficiencies, and discrepancies
  • More informed inventory planning through dashboards that highlighted performance across product categories
  • Clear oversight for leadership through consolidated analytics and control tower reporting

The company continues to build on this foundation as additional supply chain processes move to the cloud.
This solution was delivered in partnership with AWS
